Understand the settings

A QR code stores a small payload directly in a pattern of modules. Btech3 does not replace your URL with a tracking redirect. The downloaded image has no built-in expiry, but an encoded website can stop working if its page moves or domain expires.

The quiet zone is the clear border around the grid. Keep it intact when placing the image in a design. More data makes a denser code, and a dense code needs more physical space to scan reliably. A short stable URL is often easier to print than a long tracking URL.

Error correction adds redundant information but reduces payload capacity. A logo covers real modules; an error-correction percentage is not a promise that the same percentage of the surface can be covered. The tool requires level H for a logo and caps its size. Scan testing is still necessary.

Step by step

  1. Enter text or select a small data file. Automatic mode is the safest starting point.
  2. Keep dark modules on a light background and at least four modules of border.
  3. Download the PNG and scan it with another device.
  4. If printing, scan an actual print at the final size, viewing distance and lighting. Confirm the full destination.

Check a simple payload

Enter https://example.com with black modules, white background and default sizing. Scan the resulting PNG. Then try a longer string and compare how the grid density changes.

Troubleshooting

Data does not fit

Shorten it or lower the correction level if you do not need a logo. Binary data is not unlimited just because you upload a file.

The image downloads but will not scan

Remove the logo, restore black/white colors and the quiet zone, and test at a larger size.

Non-English text looks wrong in a reader

The payload is encoded as UTF-8, but not every scanner interprets arbitrary text the same way. Test with the intended reader.
