Timestamp Converter

Convert between Unix time and a readable date. Choose the unit explicitly so a seconds value is not accidentally interpreted as milliseconds.

Runs locally in your browser. This tool does not upload your input or save it in browser storage.

Seconds, milliseconds, and timezones

Unix timestamp 0 is 1970-01-01T00:00:00Z. Timestamp 1704067200 seconds and 1704067200000 milliseconds both describe 2024-01-01T00:00:00Z.

2024-01-01T02:00:00+02:00 is that same instant. The offset affects how the clock is written, not the underlying timestamp. Local output uses your device settings and can therefore differ from UTC.

Date input requires a zone (Z or an explicit offset), validates calendar dates, and supports up to three fractional second digits. Leap seconds are not represented. If a date contains milliseconds, its seconds output can be fractional; use the milliseconds value for the whole-number input above.
